I wish it was possible to give the place a "zero" instead of one star. I have never seen a hospital that is so slow to take care of patients. I'm from the southwest VA mountains where healthcare is pititful, at best. This hospital makes those mountain hospitals look great, in comparison. Please do not waste your time going here, unless you have many many hours to waste.
I brought my wife in right after 11 pm on Sunday night. We are on vacation and she was having severe pain in her abdomen and kidneys. We are still siting awaiting a room at 1:14 am on Monday. She is hurting badly. We both work for the town of Lillington. She has great insurance. I still do not understand what the problem is with coming up in to the er and seeing people walk around and every 30 minutes(and I'm being gracious) someone being called back. This is definitely not the kind of care I would expect from a hospital, much less one as reputable as this one. I've asked onc and was told that the other side was full, the lady at the front said it was for band aids and bruises. We are now leaving and our insurance should not be charged for anything. I will notify the insurance and ask them to fight the billing if we are billed. I think that people should be seen in order of severity and if there are no emergencies then in order we came. This really infuriates me to watch my wife doubled over in pain while staff just walks around. No one has asked about her nor have they called her back. We plan to move to Atlantic beach in the future and I hope things change or we will be forced to drive to new Bern! I know my one little opinion doesn't matter much but it is a shame. I fought for our country and receive better care from a horrible VA system than she has received tonight.
I went here to have my first child and me and all of my visitors were just so amazed by how wonderful everything was. The hospital itself was nice but what really stood out was the care we received. Sheri, Nichole, Jessica, and Sam all took great care of me and my baby after I have my c-section. And Kim the lactation consultant was so much help! Her and one of the nurses visited us at 3am when I was having problems and she stayed for an entire hour. Crystal was also very nice every time she brought me my food which didn't stand up to the normal gross hospital food expectations. It was actually really good food. The nurses even gave me cards and left me with a gift basket they were all so nice. The nurses even took my baby for a few hours when I had been up for almost 48 hrs and was just exhausted and needed some sleep. Everyone was great
The only positive thing was the lady who drew my blood was Angel.
Staff and Doctors were uninformative and condescending. I would rate a zero if I could.
Day surgery yesterday, the staff was. Was very quick and caring! Concern about me was 5 star indeed. Services were expertly preformed from each person i encountered. The hospital is very clean .would recommend going there
