Watch out for this place. Went in to see if they could plug a tire had a nail in it. The women told me no, had to be replaced because of where the nail was. I knew she was wrong because I just had this happen to me and the plug was no where near the edge of tire. I went to Honda they plugged it just like that, FOR FREE. unbelievable. Wouldn't even give them 1 star but I had to in order to submit this.
First time visitor to the store in Morehead City, NC. Very convenient, and friendly staff. Got my first vehicle safety inspection done in less than a half hour, and decided to go ahead and get the Cadillac and bring it back to look at a slow air leak. It took another half hour to repair and I was out the door a satisfied customer. Thank you for the great experience, I will be back.
I had made an appointment online and I was sent a confirmation, but once I arrived there they had no appointment for me. Besides that, they were able to fit in me and I was done in an hour. They had a waiting area with a TV, free soda/water, coffee and popcorn. An associate came and asked me if I wanted to change my filters, the technicians recommended it. She let me know the prices. Everyone was friendly! Would go again!
Have used Family Tire for several years with only one problem. This time my ABS and Check engine lights came on simultaneously. At Family Tire I was told that both "hub assemblies" needed replacing, and was quoted an estimate of almost $1000.00. I called the Subaru dealer in New Bern, sure that their estimate would be even higher. To my surprise, their estimate was $700.00! A friend who was with me received an $800.00 estimate from a third company. When I left and paid my $100.00 for the diagnostics performed, I noticed that the estimate had been reduced t0 $884.98 without any explanation. Long story short - took the car to Riverside Subaru in New Bern, completely different diagnosis - with only the right front wheel speed sensor needing replacement. Their estimate revised downward, and I ended up with a bill of $366.12 and a repaired car. Don't know if Family Tire's estimate was because I am a woman, or because I've been to them before without questioning their estimates or work - or some other reason. Bottom line is that I'm not planning to visit them again.
I would just advice do not make an appointment online, and if you do call and make sure.
