Read great things online about this place so .made the long drive to eat there while in New Bern. Felt it was over priced for the food quality. Ordered the sangria and it was so bitter I had to send it back. Was made with a lot of lemon and tasted like lemon rind. Service was good.
Romantic atmosphere. Big city pro chef in a small town. This guy can bring it with the best of them, period.
What a find! At my sister in law's suggestion our family of four enjoyed a delicious meal at La Perla. It is tucked away in a small shopping center but well worth finding. The ceviche and fried octopus appetizers were fabulous, as was my pink snapper. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which made for a fun and memorable evening. I highly recommend and we will be back!
Found this out of the way gem in a small beach town I've been going to for 20+ years with a lack-luster food scene. Fresh ingredients, creative dishes, dynamic flavors. They really get it! Figs, Shisito Peppers, Beautiful snapper, Octopus! I wish this place the most success. Overwhelmed by its food right now. Do yourself a favor and find La Perla. Now!!! 5 stars
