I think this place has the best vets in Carteret county. Very kind and compassionate. When my dog has been sick they've always tried to work her in. Locally owned and operated so everyone there has a true dedication to the community.
First time puppy owner
Morehead Animal Hospital is the best animal hospital in the area! The staff is knowledgeable, hospitable, and humble. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a good place to bring their pet!
Was told I should give her flu shots which I felt like was an attempt to milk more money out of me, but I didn’t know any better so I trusted them...
The vet was very friendly and open to answering any questions

Positive:
When I took my puppy in for her spaying procedure they tried to sneak in an additional charge for having her chipped which I never said I wanted done. They just wrote it in on the paper and hoped I’d sign it. No explanation of the cost or anything... at this point I’m getting flustered. (Might be worthy of a 3 or 4 star review though)
Then when we picked her up after the procedure, I learned that they were still using staples to close the incision and they didn’t look like they were put in particularly well. Pretty confident that most places use dissolvable solutions these days, I took my puppy elsewhere to have them removed... sure enough not only did the other vet confirm that staples are pretty well obsolete, but they also did a very poor job making the incision and left a lot of scar tissue. Fortunately my puppy is okay but everything about this procedure seemed shady and half assed.
Negative:
Instead of removing my puppy's duclaws and then spaying her, they suggested it would be better to do them both at the same time so that it would overall be much less recovery time for her and save me on costs! They really look out for your fur babies and you the client! Love it!
Outstanding staff, the very best of care given to our four-legged family members, and you know you can trust the doctors to give the the kind of care and attention to your "baby" as if it were their very own. Highly recommended.
Needless to say we won’t be coming back
